: Year one tuition and fees for first-year international students is approximately CDN$27,500.

Accommodation: CDN$10,000, including a basic meal plan

Available scholarships: Entrance scholarships begin at the equivalent of an 80% average in Ontario, which earns non-arts students CDN$1,500 towards their tuition and arts students CDN$3,000 towards their tuition. Entrance scholarships increase in value up to a 95% average. Additional money can be earned in the second, third and fourth year for students who maintain an 80% average in university. Caribbean population at the school - Usually, between 15 to 20 students from the Caribbean enrol each year.
Highly recommended programme/courses - King's University is well known for programs in the liberal arts, including arts, social sciences, social work, social justice and peace studies, childhood and social institutions and management and organisational studies.

Student population: Approximately 3,800 full-time and part-time students.
Student-teacher ratio: An average first-year class size is 53 students. Classes become progressively smaller in second, third and fourth years.

Matriculation for Caribbean students: Applicants who wish to be considered for admission to King's University College on the basis of Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations must submit the following:

1. CAPE Certifying Statement of Performance issued to King's directly from the CXC. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
Note: Preliminary result slips will be used for a preliminary evaluation of the final grades until the certificate/certifying statements become available. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head or counsellor.
Applicants may be considered for conditional admission on the basis of predicted results. Predicted Unit 2 results, final Unit 1 results must be submitted directly to King's from the institution(s) attended.

2. CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate) results are required. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable. GCSE/O-level results may be considered in lieu of CSEC.

Fanshawe College

Location: London, Canada

Student population: 15, 000 students - 2,500 international students - from 70 different countries

Over a dozen restaurants & cafeterias, including an on-campus bar, retail services, three student residences, bus pass, fitness centre & sports complex, varsity & intramural teams, radio station 106.

Jamaican students at Fanshawe College:
Since 2004, 58 students from Jamaica have attended Fanshawe College, 28 of whom came is the last two years.

Nine Jamaican students are attending the college this semester in eight programmes:
• autism and behavioural science
• project management
• social service worker
• computer programmer analyst
• business-finance (co-op)
• geographic information systems
• early childhood education
• construction engineering technology (management)

Enrolment tips:
Five CSEC subjects with good passes (math and English).
CAPE is of no great advantage unless it is grades 1 and 2.
